Lifetime Contribution Honoree - Bill Nebeker

The 2nd Annual Buckey Awards for Excellence in the Arts (Saturday, March 10th at the Elks Opera House) announced today that their Lifetime Contribution to the Arts of Yavapai County award will go to Bill Nebeker. Please joins us in celebrating the life and work of a great artist. Its going to be a great night for the arts in Yavapai County!

Buckey Awards Poster Image!!

The amazing Robert Carnahan designed this year's Buckey Awards poster. Here's the central graphic for the poster, featuring an image of the Rough Rider bronze on Courthouse Square taken when Buckey O'Neill, our namesake, had recently left this world.

But he left behind a rich tradition of collaborationist, small town creatives with a lead, follow or get the heck out of the way attitude. We salute you, Buckey, and we thank you, Mr. Carnahan.

Tickets are $10, $15 and $25. This is event is reserved seats only so friends and family can enjoy a glittering night celebrating our artists, performers and arts supporters together!

The Buckey Awards are named after famed sheriff/mayor/soldier/writer/journalist Buckey O'Neill.

The 2^nd Annual Buckey Awards for Excellence in the Arts is set for Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Prescott, Arizona’s historic Elks Opera House. Brought to you by the Prescott Arts Beat radio show and the City of Prescott, this celebration is made possible in part by Public Radio stations KAWC and KJZA (89.5FM, 90.1FM) and other supporters.

These awards were established to recognize the outstanding achievements of artists, performers and arts supporters who live and work living in Yavapai County, AZ. This year’s award categories include: Outstanding Visual Artist, Outstanding Literary Artist, Outstanding Media Artist/Broadcaster, Outstanding Arts Educator, Outstanding Performing Artist, Outstanding Arts Activist/Philanthropist, Outstanding Arts Organization, Outstanding Arts Event, Outstanding Musical Artist and Lifetime Contribution to the Arts of Yavapai County.

Nominations for these awards can be made online at http://survey.constantcontact.com/survey/a07e5i8skq9gxesnupa/start until midnight, February 17, 2012. After the ballots have been received, a committee will select the short list of nominees, with this year’s honoree from each category announced at the awards ceremony on March 10^th.
